  3. If a patient works in a dry environment special considerations may have to be taken.  Hydrogel lenses often dry under such conditions causing discomfort and surface deposits.  
  4. Sometimes using thicker 
  5. (0.10 mm or greater) hydrogel 
  6. lenses will minimize the 
  7. discomfort (see the hydrogel 
  8. CD for more details).

  10. If the dryness symptom is due 
  11. to deposits or deposits alone 
  12. are a problem-frequent 
  13. replacement or disposable 
  14. lenses are a viable choice.
  15.  
  16. Rigid lenses may be required 
  17. to decrease dryness symptoms.
  18.  
  19. Any contact lens wear can be difficult under low humidity and/or windy conditions.
